Hollywood is full of drama, and most of it is splashed all over the headlines for us to see. But what about those stories that we don't hear about. There are plenty of crazy things that go unannounced and the public never knows. So there are some that are news worthy that slide under the radar. Here are the top four scandals that have been kept hush, hush.

1. The History of the Hollywood Sign

There’s always been drama surrounding that Hollywood signs, but many don’t know that it was actually first constructed in 1923. It was Harry Chandler, who put the sign there because he was a real estate agent and wanted to advertise. It was a leased space for 18 months. It originally said “Hollywoodland” but then in 1949 it was shortened to what it says today. There are many mysteries surrounding the sign and have been numerous deaths in the area. It was Peg Entwistle, who marked the first suicide from the sign. She jumped to her death from the letter “H”. The sign cost so much to maintain all the way up there on that hill that a Sign Trust was set up. Back in 1995 funds had to be allocated to this legendary landmark and its upkeep.

2. No Movies Allowed-A Rule That Backfired

Hollywood once had a ban on movies. Back in 1910 there were no theaters allowed in the now movie making city. It was in 1918 when two soap brothers from Ohio came to sell their goods that things changed. They set up a studio to sell their fragrant soaps and they called their place Warner Brothers. When soaps didn't work out for them, the movie business sure did.

3. The Basic Instinct Drama

The movie had a strong following. People couldn't get enough of this erotic thriller. However, it may have given Sharon Stone a household name, but those who worked with her on the set had a different name for her. Stone was so mean to production workers and fellow cast-mates that she became hated by all. The movie may have grossed $350 million, but the real story was in the tell all book by Joe Eszterhas. Apparently, due to their loathe for Stone, they would take turns urinating in her bathtub.

4. Bruce Lee Died From Aspirin

Lee became a household name when his movie "The Green Hornet" came out. It was just a few days before the release of his latest film; the date was July 20, 1973. During a routine business meeting with agent Raymond Chow, they decided to drive over to a friend's house, Betty Ting Pei. Lee was complaining that he had a headache and was in severe pain. His friend quickly offered him something called an Equagesic. This is a combination of a muscle relaxer and an aspirin.

Lee became tired and wanted to take a nap. This was one doozy of a nap because he never woke up. The autopsy showed that he only had the Equagesic in his system. Though the official ruling was sensitivity to the muscle relaxant, some speculate that it was murder and jealousy that was his demise. News reporting wasn’t as good as it is today, and while his story got out, it was never said that it was murder as some close to him theorized.

Hollywood is always going to be one of the most unique places on earth. It surrounded by mystery and enchanted by fame and fortune. For those who have made it big and those that have died trying, there are many secrets that we will never know. Sometimes working with stars can be difficult, and sometimes jealousy can kill those who were on their way to the top.
