Baking soda is a must-have ingredient in every kitchen. We use it for everything from cooking and cleaning to beauty treatments, but there are certainly some uses you haven’t heard about so far. After you read this article we’re sure that you’ll never look at baking soda the same way again.

    Care for your feet

Baking soda is excellent when it comes to foot care. You can prepare a relaxing foot bath by adding 3tbsp. of baking soda in 2 liters of water and soak them for 15-20 minutes. Massage them and enjoy your spa day at home.

    Treat minor ailments

Baking soda is also an excellent natural remedy for acid reflux and stomachaches. Just mix 1-2tbsp. Baking soda in a glass of cold water and drink it when you feel digestive troubles. However, if the problem is persistent, you should consult with your doctor.

    Remove splinters

Splinters can easily be removed with baking soda. Mix equal parts of baking soda and water into a paste and apply it on the splinter. You’ll soon resolve your problem.

    Treat sunburn

If you forget yourself in the sun baking soda can come to your rescue. Mix 4tbsp. of baking soda with some warm water and apply it on the affected areas. It will cool down your skin and speed up the healing process.

    Against sweating

Deodorants are full of toxic chemicals and can easily irritate your skin. Did you know you can make your own completely natural deodorant using just some baking soda and water? Mix them up and apply the mixture under your armpits, it will keep them dry and prevent sweating.

    Bee stings

Baking soda has a soothing effect on the skin and can relieve swelling and irritation after an insect bite or a bee sting. Its alkaline properties can reduce the pain and counteract the bee venom.

    Shampoo

Baking soda is an excellent addition to your shampoo, especially if you have greasy hair. Add it to your regular shampoo and your hair will be cleaner than ever before.
